Painting a heated towel rail?

Hi all,

I'm wanting to overhaul my bathroom on the cheap and part of that is ideally getting my chrome towel rail from silver to matt black. I know there are paints suitable for chrome, and I know there are radiator paints but are there paints for chrome that will withstand high temperatures?

Does anyone have any experience?

TIA :)

I’ve not tried painting chrome, but found spray-on radiator paint easy to use, and probably your best option for heat.

Several thin layers better than fewer thicker layers.

You can get spray on exhaust paint from Halfords, that does both.

Thanks for the tip about the exhaust paint! I’ll need to remember that for future projects.
