Which home magazine do you buy?

I’d like to buy a regular home magazine to get some ideas but I’ve tried a few and the ideas are just not realistic for my home. I live in a 1960’s dorma bungalow so I find some of the ideas in egIdeal Home a bit fancy and bold and expensive.

I’ve tried using pinterest but I just forget to look at everything I’ve saved! I prefer the old fashioned magazines that I can cut things out of.

Any suggestions please?

The cheaper ones (£1.99 odd) can be good - is one of the called 'your home'?
Although I realised the other day that apart from the reader's home features, the rest of the mag is basically a collage of shops and suppliers' own product promotion. So their photos, styling etc.
Still, it's good for ideas and particularly budget and DIY options.
I've really gone off Elle Decoration, it seems all styling and not much design anymore.

25 Beautiful Homes tend feature different styles of properties and more budget options (not necessarily that budget but better than the more upmarket publications).

You could also try the houzz website. Interiors only, millions of photos and tons of filters so you can find things very easily.

For pure inspiration / aspiration I like House and Garden as I like the style of decor in it, and in many ways I find aspects of it achievable as it’s often a more classical layered look that suits the way I do things. BUT for lots of ideas of things that will work in a home that doesn’t belong to someone who works in the creative professions or who has had a designer create a look for them, I second the “25 beautiful homes” suggestion. Not everything in there will be to your taste but it’s great for seeing how people tackle all sorts of different homes and a variety of decor styles.

I get a subscription to ideal home for Christmas every year. I also buy style at home and your home.

I buy the £1.99 ones mentioned above, My home, my style and style at home are all good for budget options. The houses are a bit samey after you've read a few issues, but they're more George at Asda, Tk Maxx, Ebay type budget and the houses are usually just very ordinary family homes so it's good to see how people on a budget have done things a bit differently. One of them has floor plans like an estate agents so it's good to see the real room sizes (again usually very ordinary). I do like country homes and interiors for a bit of property porn although that's usually all bespoke fittings and £30K kitchens!
