Farrow and Ball - artificial light?

I am looking for a paint colour for a dark room with a small window (that has a wall opposite it) that is primarily used when the light is turned on. I have tried so many paint colours (hoping to achieve a soft blush colour) to no avail. I changed the light bulb from white to natural and it didn’t make any difference.

Before I buy even more samples (I have over twenty sample pots st the moment!), it dawned on me that perhaps F&B, who are known for their light changing qualities MUST be used with natural daylight. At least for their lighter colours as the dark colours look quite well in the room but sadly it is too small for a dark colour.

Does anyone know if this is the case? Have I just been wasting time and money trying to achieve the unachieveable? Do I need to just revert to white?

Is there a particular reason you don't want to paint the whole room (including the ceiling) a dark colour? - you say yourself the dark colours work and it can look lovely.

I was planning to do it in a dark colour but it is too small. It would look like a cave.

The rest of the house is lighter too and I prefer to keep the colours in the same palette iykwim. Having one tiny dark room looks really odd as if somebody else decorated it.
