Hallway confusion

My hallway has dado rails everywhere but above the stairs and the radiator. I am wanting to paint the bottom half a darker colour (Dulux soft stone) and lighter colour on top (dulux almond white) but just don’t know what to do here? Paint it all the lighter top colour one this part?

Yes, the lighter colour needs to go to the ceiling. Think of having the darker colour below the dado in the hall as it's more formal, and them the upstairs, which is a private space for the family, is lighter and softer.
