Bemz - material recommendations

I've just had a refund from Bemz for some "simply linen" sofa covers that have shrunk disastrously and ripped - Bemz have been very helpful and said they're aware there's an issue with that particular fabric.

I'm looking to buy other covers instead from them, but am feeling a bit concerned about running into the same issues.

So...just wondering if anyone would recommend their Panama cotton covers - do they wash and wear well?

Hi, OP - I haven't had a sofa cover from Bemz, but I did have some cushion covers in panama cotton. They washed and wore very well and it was a very thick, quality, heavy duty fabric, but then they don't get quite the abuse that sofas do - so not sure how helpful that will be.

I bought Benz replacement sofa covers last year in Zinc Grey velvet which is washable. I love them!

Sorry!! I just remembered something I did. I ordered samples in the different materials. I wanted to get Panama cotton too because it is so much less expensive. But, I then poured coffee on all the samples, let it dry and then washed the samples. The velvet was the best at not showing the stain. I have boys and a dog. You could try that. I ordered covers for my Ikea Tylosand sofa and they are beautiful!

@Geppili I think I love you - that's such cool research!! I had samples ages ago (inc the beautiful velvet), but chucked them when I ordered the ill-fated simply linen, so will re-order some. My children are bad enough on sofas, even without a dog, so thanks for the advice!
