What do you think of faux fur rugs?

I want something to soften the look if a wooden floor. I’m allergic to real sheepskin and it goes yellow over time, so I’m wondering about faux fur. There was a thread a while back about faux fur bedspreads, and the majority view was that they’re rather naff. Do you think the same applies to faux fur rugs?!

They probably are but I've just bought a little one from Dunelm for the edge of my bed and it's so cosy to step onto!

I wonder if you can get more realistic looking ones?
