No comment but watching with interest as I'd like to put one in the office/spare room to free up space day to day but it needs to be comfy for guests.

I read reviews of the Fletcher from made.com the other day which all said it was comfy to sleep on but hard to sit on.

I think if you find one with a pocket sprung mattress those are the best.

MonaChopsis · 11/09/2019 18:37

The comfiest ones I have slept on have been uncomfortable to sit on, and vice versa. One of the best I've slept on was a day sleeper from Ikea... I think it was a Hemnes with an upgraded mattress.

What's this? An exam? What do we get for giving in to your bossy demand, OP? A certificate?

My parents have one and it's very comfortable to sleep on, BUT they did get a topper to put on it after it's pulled out. The difference with the topper is amazing.

I went to DFS & Sofology they both had loads of sofa beds. When I mentioned I wanted to put my 86 year old Dad in it both salespeople instantly said oh God only get this one - so that narrowed my choice to 2!

Workerbeee · 11/09/2019 18:56

Oh and went with Sofology - yes it’s very comfy!

We have a Hemnes day bed with Ikea mattresses in nursery and it's super comfy! Two people who have stayed on it have gone home and bought the same mattress!

Can I join in? Sorry if I'm being impertinent
I'm trying to decide whether to make our small spare room into a bedroom proper or a sofa bed office style room.
Very rarely have people staying over but there is soon the potential for my mum 82 to stay sometimes
What was the sofa bed they recommended for your dad?

Aquamarine1029 · 11/09/2019 19:48

@iwannaseeyoudance

What about a day bed for your spare room? It can be used as a sofa, slept on as is when your mum visits, and can have a trundle that can be pulled out with another twin mattress on it.

The muji one us very comfy - quite firm. Bit shit as a sofa though.
