What colour tiles would you put in this kitchen?

I want to tile the walls all the way along the kitchen worktop. I really like the rectangular gloss tiles but I have no idea what colour to choose. The whole front room is open plan with a living area that’s purple tweed theme, a dining area that is just plain wood/slate/leather and then the kitchen that is just plain.
Any ideas? I’m toying with a plum colour but I daren’t take the plunge!

Green

Don't do sage Green, you need something bright as the worktop and floor make it look darker. Sage green or green would continue to drawer colour from it.

Look into a reflective metallic tile to bounce light around. Or a light pearlescent finish on a light coloured tile.

I think a lavender colour could look good.

Nice tiles but would look too dark and too many blocks of black with the black floor and worktops. I think you need something light. You could have them in white with a dark grout?
Or most places sell those tiles in loads of colours and you can buy sample tiles for pence. I'd recommend doing that as colours often look completely different against different backdrops and lighting. There's many grout colour options to consider too.

Another one here for a light green, with the wall going up to the ceiling in a fresh white (not brilliant white though as that would be cold). You could then have the items on the kitchen counter (kettle, over gloves, tea towels etc) in light shades of blue/yellow/cream (I would do a mixture of all of them) to add in spurts of colour. Nice bunch of fresh flowers somewhere on the kitchen counter if possible, job done!
