Word of warning about wooden floors changing colour

A few months ago I had this wooden flooring installed: www.quick-step.co.uk/en-GB/hardwood/palazzo/pal3094s_blue-mountain-oak-oiled
I chose it because I loved the neutral colour. It has now gone yellowish. I don’t hate it, but if I’d known it would soon turn this rather odd yellowish grey, I might have opted for a more golden wood in the first place. Just thought I’d let people know in case that’s useful to anyone choosing a wooden floor!

Oh dear OP! Yes my parents’ wood flooring is all yellowed although that’s due to the varnish in their case. Wood also fades in the sun so if you have rugs or furniture you might want to move in future and a sunny room, beware. Apparently any wood finish called “smoked” is less likely to fade or change colour, something about the process used.

Thank you for the tip about fading in the sun! I’ve been thinking of getting a rug, so will bear that in mind!

My floor is oiled, not varnished, and I specifically opted for that because I didn’t want varnish going yellow - didn’t realize the wood itself would go yellow!

Interesting about the smoked finish!
