Which furniture colours with this wallpaper?

We have this wallpaper. It's grey but I don't want to do an all grey room. What furniture colours would look good with it, please? www.iwantwallpaper.co.uk/silk-road-decorative-traditional-chalk-wallpaper-linen-effect-pattern-wallpaper-610605-p5340

So for example, should I get this beige chair? www.dunelm.com/product/oswald-natural-check-wingback-armchair-1000137678

Or this grey one? www.dunelm.com/product/balmoral-dove-grey-tub-chair-1000112303

I like this rug and am hoping it will work... www.dunelm.com/product/natural-chunky-jute-rug-1000045120

I have a navy blue couch but I'm not sure that would go.

The room is a sitting room. I don't have a big budget and I want to avoid the all-grey look because I think it's going out of style...yet I'm really not good with colour. We plan to put the house up for sale next year so I need to appeal to as wide a range of tastes as possible. Thank you!

I do like this IKEA chair but it's a bit more expensive.... Would it go? www.dunelm.com/product/natural-chunky-jute-rug-1000045120

The link to the ikea chair is wrong.

The following is very much a personal taste thing...

I’d contrast stronger block/non patterned colours with the grey patterned wallpaper.

As you’ve got a navy sofa, I’d be thinking of Mustard, olives, burnt orange or even, bare with me, fuchsia/schapparelli pink.

Some nice options here in the “ customers also looked at” section as well

If you’re going to replace the sofa, then teal could be an option?

What’s your flooring? A neutral rug would be good if you had strong coloured furnishings.

If you do go for neutral furnishings, then those colours in cushions would look good too.

Thank you very much, mulitudes! I won't correct the link to the IKEA chair because I think you're right, solid colours would be best. I'm thinking pale teal could be good and would therefore replace the couch. The flooring is waxed pine.

I'm really not sure why you'd decide to choose furniture to go with wallpaper rather than the other way around Confused. Wallpaper can be changed relativly easily whilst furniture is surely a much longer term (and larger) investment.

Um, thanks for your views, MmeBufo? Not really sure what else to say to that one! Grin

I don’t think beige and grey look good together at all.

NotJustACigar · 20/08/2019 19:47

I agree EdWinchester, and on reflection won't get the beige chair.

I don't think tartan-like patterns go with the delicate pattern of the wallpaper, OP. Agree with teal. All blues and greens go with greys. Not beige. This is nice (more Dunelm!).

Oh, I do love teal.

Whichever colour you use for the sofa, use a contrast colour for the armchair eg. teal sofa, mustard armchair.

I’d also consider a cream shag rug
