IDEAS FOR CHRISTMAS PLEASE!!

Hello!

I know it's kind of early... but this year myself and my partner, along with our ds are having Christmas at home.

We have always gone to my mums, and had a big family affair. But it always ends up with some sort of argument or stress. So we have decided that this year, it will be just us three at home.

I've never really decorated the house, only due to going to my mums for the whole christmas to new year. I have always had a real tree, and a few random decorations I have in the attic.

But this year I really want to make it special! Please could I see any pictures of what your house looks like at Christmas time for ideas? We live in a small 200year old cottage, so we don't have much space to fill. But I would just like to make it Christmassy!

Any ideas or photos are much appreciated! Thank you.

(Also cooking a Christmas dinner is terrifying me, I can do a roast but all the extras!!)

I always decorate the mantel piece and have bought some bead trim off ebay which loojs great on the tree. Do a door wreath as well - you can buy a cheap simple one and add things to it like dried/silk flowers, dried oranges and cinnamon sticks and a big ribbon.

Oh I love that! We have a mantelpiece, so I might do something similar! Definitely would like a beautiful wreath for the front door too. I'm changing my tree decs this year but really do not know what colours to go for yet.

It's WAY too early to start thinking about Christmas!

But while we are, I like the classic Christmas look, i.e. deep reds, gold (not silver) and warm white lights (not cold white, not multi-coloured).

The Range has an enormous selection of great stuff, usually appearing around October each year.

I don't have any pictures of my house but just wanted to say, don't stress too much about the dinner!

Prep all the veg the night before, put them in pans of water ready to go on the cooker, do the pigs in blankets the night before and put them on an oven tray in the fridge ready to go in, line your trays with foil or baking paper to make clean up easier, it's much easier than you might think.

Yes it really is too early but I am just prepping myself!! And want to start just getting bits and bobs to store until we are ready to decorate.

I do love the that, the traditional colours. Think we might go with that.

And thank you re meal prep! I think we will be okay. Going to peel veg etc, and prep as much as poss the day before! It's only going to be us three here I think for dinner anyway!
