Help me choose a rug for new sofa.

Hello all, first post but longtime lurker. New sofa delivered yesterday- love it but it definitely clashes with the rug we have! The sofa we bought is this (exact same as first pic).
The pattern on the fabric is actually quite busy so we need a fairly plain rug. We want one that's quite cost and soft to walk/lie on.
Please help as I can't decide!

I haven't got an answer for your question but when I read the title before I clicked on the post I was trying to work out why you would put a rug on a sofa 😂😂
