Green for a bedroom

We're looking for a green for our bedroom. We've tried overtly olive by silicon and it's the right tone for me, but too dark. Oh's colour blind and only sees it as brown however. He'd like more green in it, I don't like too much "zing" to green paint.

Has anyone got any ideas that might fit the bill please before I bankrupt us on tester pots?

The room has a wall to wall window, Which is south-west facing. It's like a greenhouse in summer, we've yet to live here during a winter but even on cold days the house has been hot enough to need windows open.

Picture of the overtly olive, you can see the window in the mirror - it really is wall to wall!

If you want a non zingy green that your OH would appreciate, how about looking for cooler green tones?

Whips out trusty little greene green chart...

Oh I like the look of mizzle! Is that farrow & ball?

I'm essentially after the equivalent of blushed pink but in green I think! Something a bit muted that doesn't "shout" that it's green too loudly. We live opposite a field with a beck and a load of trees, so there feels a bit too much greenery to go with something that'll look too much...

That Boringdon Green one is nice.

We've got dulux willow tree. I was dubious but it's actually lovely. It is one of those colours that seems different in different lights. In my sisters kitchen it's quite bright. In my bedroom it's quite soft.

We have willow tree in a bedroom. It is a lovely, calm colour.

Have you looked at farrow and ball Bone? They call it a grey, but I think it’s a soft green. www.farrow-ball.com/paint-colours/bone
It is a much greener in our easy facing bedroom.

East facing

Also have Mizzle and everyone loves it. It never looks cold.

I am looking at mizzle and also Cromarty but yet to get the testers.

My spare room has a lovely olive from the b&q own range. My favourite room in the house and I am v cross it will soon be dd2s room as I love it. It's a small room but feels airy in summer and cosy in winter. And was a bargain.

I've just done DD's room in Dulux Japanese Maze 6 which is lovely. It's a very muted, fresh green.

How much agreement do you need? It's a serious question. DH always wants more green (or whatever colour), but if I go with my instincts, he is always delighted with the end result.

MeltingSugs · 11/08/2019 09:38

I would also recommend Mizzle.

I’d also highly recommend looking at Little Greene paint. I think we will use it everywhere in our next house. It has a beautiful soft matt texture, very rich pigments and is hard as nails

I've used Little Greene paint for the first time recently and can also vouch for how good it is. I had been looking for a deep green and found it in their paints, but just when I was about to go ahead I watched The Handmaids Tale and saw that same green throughout the Waterford's house. Ha. I went for Hicks Blue in the end.
