Can I stand on my kitchen worktops?

There is a corner of my kitchen that I can't reach to paint without standing on the worktop. Will the cabinets collapse? Has anyone else done this with or without success?

I have and was fine.

I always stand on my worktops to dust the ceiling and clean on top of my units. I have done it in several houses/kitchens too. So I’m sure you will be fine.

Thanks, I will get on with it then...

I've always stood on them to paint and clean windows. This was one of the reasons we stuck with laminate worktops - it's probably fine with quartz or granite but the cost if it did go pear-shaped would put me off.

I always have, to clean the tops of my cupboards or paint the tops/corners of walls but I suppose it really depends on how heavy the person is doesn't it?

Just remember not to put any weight on the bits that have had holes cut out - around sinks and hobs for example. (I'd never really thought about this until I had a kitchen fitted, and kind of imagined they just kind of sat atop the work surface BlushGrin)
