I've always bought and loved Yankee candles but have noticed that woodwick are half price in my local garden centre. Any fans? Fragrance recommendations?

Yep - we like Fireside.

Fireside sounds lovely, thank you. Also looking at Warm Wool. Just googled and it appears that woodwick is part of Yankee. From the descriptions, the fragrances sound much more complex than Yankee.

We like the crackling wick. It adds to the ambience.

Yes, the crackling wick is adding to the appeal already! Thank you

The crackling wick pisses me off.

The crackling wick is very annoying!

I love a woodwick, I try and stock up after Christmas in boots sale.

I am a repeat buyer of the evening onyx and lime gelato scents, I've also got a sun ripened berries that my SiL got me for Christmas smells gorgeous, but it is that powerful you can smell it unlit if it's open.

I bought Linen in the end. There were very few left to choose from, no wonder as they were reduced to £11 to clear. Bit disappointed, lit it for 3 hours in a small ish room and hardly any discernable fragrance. Glad I didn't pay full price. Thank you for all your replies though

I buy them because I love the sound of the crackling wood. The fragrance is pants though.

missbattenburg · 04/08/2019 06:51

I always think they sound less like a crackling fire and more like a spitting frying pan...

I have the lemon citronella one for outside and it's lovely.

The crackling wick also pisses me off though, it sounds nothing like wood burning, it's just a weird sound it makes. Fat spitting in a pan is a good description.
