Can anyone recommend a decent superking duvet that properly fits covers??

I've had a superking bed for 6 months or so now and it drives me insane. I've had nothing but trouble trying to get sheets to stay fitted or the duvet to fit neatly in covers.
It sounds silly but I hate getting into bed and snuggling up to excess cover where the duvet doesn't seem to fit right, and it's exhausting having to re fit the duvet most nights.
I've only tried one duvet, a silent night hotel quality one (apparently) and it's nothing special. Can anyone recommend a decent super king duvet please? Anything that you've had luck with staying in the cover!

Measure your actual duvet and buy the cover in those measurements. Don’t rely on the description, sizes differ even if they’re called the same thing,

I buy all my super king bedding in Next, they do extra deep fitted bottom sheets and the duvet covers fit great.

Surely buying covers and quilts from the same manufacturer would resolve the problem?

My parents always bought beds from ikea and had to always get ikea bedding as a result because their specifications were totally different to everywhere else.

Also, don't buy cheap bedding from places like B&M etc. I have bought stuff from there thinking it's a bargain when it's obviously been reject stuff that's oddly shaped and the wrong size etc.

Have you got the duvet the right way round in the cover? They look pretty much square because they are so huge but they aren't! I often get it wrong and end up with excess cover flapping on one side. I am considering sewing buttons or something to the corners so I can attach the duvet to the cover, as shaking it back into shape is a workout with a superking

Yay to not square, I hate getting quilt cover on wrong way, bunches up at top with big gaps at side.... Arghhhh!

Sainsbury's bedding always been good, and their brushed cotton sets in mid winter are divine....

Baavet wool duvet, it's stitched in channels and so the filling doesn't move around or go lumpy and as a consequence it stays put in the duvet cover.

Marks and Spencer's quilt and covers, but you do have to make sure the quilt is the right way round. I've found a magic way to do now as knackering to shake it into cover. Found it on YouTube I think

Nope. Our superking duvet from John Lewis Does not fit well in our John Lewis superking duvet cover. Pretty sure I have it the right way round!

Another vote for Sainsbury's here.

They fit well, wash well and I 've managed to pick up a bargain when they have home events in store.

I have a tempur bed and only buy their sheets as fit perfectly.
Duvets I resorted to two doubles. Sleep better that way.

Bloom92 · 25/07/2019 08:30

Funnily enough for the first week we had it the wrong way around. It was really horrible then, we couldn't figure out why there was so much excess!
Definitely the right way around now, buttons sounds like a good idea. It is like a workout, one I dont need before trying to sleep!

I think I'm going to try a Sainsbury's duvet. I had one from them before years ago and it was great, so fingers crossed it will be again!
I'm glad go know I'm not the only one getting so wound up by superking bedding though!
