If you had had two roman blinds made ...

and the pattern on one of them started an inch lower at the top of the blind than the other one what would you do?

I find this annoying, probably because I have always made my own blinds but now find myself without the time to do that. So I have had them made and the pattern on one starts lower - albeit only by an inch - than the other one.

I would never have done that and am slightly pissed off that for the money I have spent they didn't think about something so simple.

Am I being too picky ?? Same room, adjacent windows, ordered together.

I would ask to have one remade. But maybe I’ve overly picky?

PurpleWithRed · 09/07/2019 17:50

I'd be quite cross, they should have been matched. Really ought to go back to be done again.

onyourway · 09/07/2019 17:50

I think you should point it out, certainly.

Apolloanddaphne · 09/07/2019 17:51

I would ask them to be redone- well one at least. I have sets of 2, 3 and 4 blinds and they all match perfectly

Thank you - I am so pleased you agree with me .. photo.

I know it will get on my nerves - I cant believe it to be honest.

Yep, not acceptable. I make my own and wouldn't do that. Definitely would complain.

mineallmine · 09/07/2019 22:15

I make my own too and maybe that makes us all perfectionists but to be honest, if I'm paying a professional i would expect perfection. Not acceptable.

boxlikeamarchhare · 10/07/2019 06:55

I have emailed them and do you know what, I will return to making my own, the finishing isn’t up to my standard generally but with 23 windows and two jobs I am short of time.

Slightly off topic, but I wonder if one of you talented people could point me in the direction of instructions for making blinds..

boxlikeamarchhare · 11/07/2019 04:30

The best guide you could ever use did is the Merrick and Day Encyclopaedia of Curtains. I have had the original book for 20 years. There is a newer version but you can get the first one for £1 on Amazon.

I always buy my blind mechanism, tapes etc from Merrick and Day too, first class products.
