Looking for ceiling lampshade that goes under bulb

Has anyone manage to find one that goes under the bulb? I think that would be nice for diffuse light! (And would mean bright light isn’t in my eyes if I’m doing yoga on the floor!)

Aren't many of them designed to work both ways, ie standard or pendant? You just flip the metal holder round.

That’s interesting - I’d not thought of that. I’ll see if I can find some like that!

Look for uplighter shades

Mine are a mixture of these type of shade. Not exactly these but there are plenty of rounded or cyclinder with diffuser disk about. I agree I dislike looking up into an ordinary bulb.

You need an uplighter

In many ways dont think you can beat the good old student staple of beige paper and bamboo globe. Goes with everything, lovely soft light,, cheap and presumably eco friendly.

@GreenTuftyFlowers I may end up getting one of those! It’s surprisingly difficult to find nice lampshades!

@Abcd3 Sorry for using the wrong term (pendant), hope I didn't send you off on a wild goose chase online. I agree that it is tricky to find nice lampshades that not only look good but also provide the right shading for the bulb. I have resorted to GreenTufty's solution

That’s ok - different retailers seem to use different terms. I can across this rather hilarious shade!
