Your favourite duck egg blue?

I'm looking for a colour for a very light attic conversion. I was planning to use F&B Parma Gray, which it turns out is gorgeous for the 10% of the time we have sunshine but a horrid grey colour (clue is in the name, I guess) the other 90% of the time. Google Images lied to me!

I don't want grey, I want a light, pale, almost washed out teal type colour, essentially a sophisticated pastel- but likewise nothing so pale that it just looks off-white. Fussy!

Has anyone found anything beautiful out there?

Dulux Aqua White is suprisingly nice (I know it sounds very dreary!). Worth a paint sample. It's a definite pale blue/green rather than off white imo, despite the name!

GreenTuftyFlowers · 29/06/2019 11:14

Sorry it's not called aqua white, it's Jade White! Kind of an aqua colour though.

Thanks! I looked it up and wasn't convinced- too pale...? But going down the rabbit hole of Pinterest and Houzz led me to Benjamin Moore Palladian Blue which looks promising. Similar but more intense?

Pale Powder is a beautiful colour, I have sèen it in a few different places and it looks very well.

3luckystars · 29/06/2019 21:39

What kind of light is in the room? If it is north and you have loads of trees outside the window then a lot of the blue greys will look a bit miserable.

(The pale powder should still be nice though)

GreenTuftyFlowers · 29/06/2019 21:45

I'm v tempted by pale powder - dont even know which room - whole house needs doing!

GreenTuftyFlowers · 29/06/2019 21:48

Weirdly I had willow tree in my last house, was very nice, gentle colour, more greeny than aqua.

That's how I felt when I saw it too. My friend has it in her living room and the first tjing i asked her was what colour is that? She says eveyone asks her. she repaints it the same every time, pale powder, her room is bright with loads of sun and it looks a bit green nearly but it just feels like a lovely room.

Light blue F&B - it's duck egg blue basically. Gorgeous in my bedroom.

PeoniesarePink · 29/06/2019 22:00

Zoffany paints do one called Dufour, it's a lovely colour.

3luckystars - ooh even more tempted now!

Another vote for pale powder. Or have a look at Laura Ashley eau De nil, which I think comes in different depths of colour

Bluesheep8 · 30/06/2019 08:34

Or dulux heritage clear skies. It's much more blue but it's lovely. I have it in my kitchen and will try to post a pic

Another vote for Pale Powder.

Johnstone's Victorian Mint. Love it. Pale duck egg basically

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 09/07/2019 19:48

F and B pavilion blue is lovely - very pale

Bluntness100 · 09/07/2019 19:55

Laura Ashley pale duck egg, which is the first image, or Laura Ashley pale eau de nil which is the second. They also do a non pale version which is stronger.

Both are duck egg but the eau de nil is more greenish. I have it in the play room and it's lovely

Sorry this is more representative of the pale duck egg not that bed shot.

The bathroom image is representative of the pale eau de nil though.
