find me a theme/colour scheme to match flooring

I recently bought enough vinyl click flooring to do the entire downstairs of my house. I am getting a new kitchen in the next few months and then will be laying the floor and redecorating the living room diner. I am totally and utterly stuck as to what colour scheme to go with for the living room to match the floor. I normally love choosing colours but just dont know.

My downstairs is all open plan. The living room diner is 8m x 4 m and has three narrow south facing windows and a north facing window. The room is bright enough so can take darker colours but would really prefer nothing too dark as it affects my mood. The kitchen area is 4m x 3.5m and the units will be white shaker style with wooden worktops ( oak or beech). I have not decided on the colour of the kitchen walls yet but am leaning towards pastels, there is no doors between the kitche and living space, its totally open.

I am open to unusual ideas as well as traditional ish styles. I am just stuck, i think because its such a big space and they feed into each other. Should they match? stand seperate? help!

Maybe "beach" colours - blues/ turquoise/ white or rose pink?

I was thinking possibly rose pink and a contrast in duck egg blue but I really struggle to visualise it. I am also replacing the sofas so thats making it even more impossible for me to picture it all together. I did see some beautiful wooden blinds in white, the did seem to have a kind of beachy vibe to them so that could work. Is there such a thing as a beachy sofa though?

Have a search for "coastal living rooms". I think the key is to have a neutral sofa and cushions to coordinate.

I'd go for pastels with that flooring op. Maybe duck egg blue in the kitchen and blush pinks elsewhere. Then tie it all together with a blind with both colours in and faux flowers in both colours.

I love your flooring by the way

Just wanted to update ( have name changed since). went for white shaker units and a limed oak laminate worktop. Blues grey tiles to match the flooring and my kitchen is about 1/2 way through. I'm loving it already. Will be doing the living room in soft pastels but with a darker colour sofa ( dogs/kids). The flooring will tie it all together
