Paint colours in north facing living room

I'm looking for some ideas for a north facing living room. The sofas are a darkish brown leather and there is a wooden floor. It does, however, also have an original 1950s tiled fireplace in various shades of brown, which can't be removed.

So there is an awful lot of brown but I need a complementary paint colour which will go with it but not look too dark, as it gets no natural light.

Any ideas to make it seem more modern would be great.

Dulux dusted moss. Grey with slight hint green. You can’t go pure grey with all the browns, but should steer clear of beige tones if you want it to look more contemporary.

My living room has the same issues, north facing, dark brown sofa and even a dark brown floor (from before us). I painted it dulux just walnut which is quite similar to the dusted moss suggested, though the dusted moss was a bit darker and had a greener tinge

I was looking for a greyish colour but with brown undertones. I think it works pretty well but then I would say that I suppose,

Oh and I have just remembered that I painted the alcoves and chimney in perfectly taupe which is a warmer colour. It was meant to be a feature wall but the difference is really not noticeable enough for it to be a feature wall. I think it does add some extra warmth to the room without making it too dark

Dulux Mellow Mocha goes well with brown leather furniture. Here’s an example.
I had it in my kitchen and loved it with white gloss woodwork. It looked really fresh and neat.

Thanks for all your suggestions. There are a few colours I might get some tester pots in and see how it looks.
