Bench cushion for indoors

Am looking to have a bench by the french doors which lead from the garden. We have space for a decent storage bench - somewhere to sit and remove shoes etc.

Funds are tight - the one I really like is £400 - so DH says he can make one ? The cushion will make it look special though.

The only ones I can see online are really for outdoor garden benches - all very plain fabrics. I would like something a bit nicer - to save me having to buy fabric and make a bodge job of covering it myself.

Has anyone seen anything suitable? Modern florals - pink/purple tones maybe?

I'd have one made. Plenty of folks on Etsy who custom make cushions. Just pick your fabric, Sandersons do some lovely floral or woodland ones.

Just put Sanderson cushion in the search box then message the seller, they often do custom designs. I had some Sanderson cushions made up by a lady on there, cheaper than in the shops and fabulous quality.

If you don’t have any luck finding what you need, you can definitely do your own bench cushion cover without making a bodge job of it.

I made a covered cushion for an Ikea shoe bench with MDF, foam, fabric and a stapler. No sewing, and no crafting skills required. It means you can choose a fabric you love.

If you have a liftable seat, just attach the cushion to the bench with command strips.

You can get foam cut to size and order it via the Internet. And then to make a cover is quite simple.
