Curtains or Roman blinds over Venetian blinds?!

Hello! Recently had Venetian blinds installed. But too much light in the mornings even when shut. We have radiators in front of the windows and so unsure about floor length curtains. Not sure how short curtains will look. I kind of like the long curtains look, but again these are bedroom windows. I noticed many have suggested Roman blinds to avoid curtains cutting off the heat. Has anyone done Roman blinds over Venetian? Is that even a thing? Don't see too many pictures online to get an idea. Ideas, please!

There is a reason why you don't see lots of images of venetian blinds with roman blinds. They don't look great.

The third image is slightly better than the others because it is placed well outside the window recess.

Is there any chance you could move the radiator - either to another wall or add a vertical radiator? This would let you have full length curtains.

In an ideal world curtains look better full length but if it is a case of needing to preserve heat in the room then go for shorter curtains. Realistically, how many people are going to see them in your bedroom? Your living room would be a different matter.

Do you have your heating on at night? If not I’d not worry about curtains covering the radiator holding the heat. As long as you only close your curtains once the heating is off then it’s not going to matter. Curtains would look best over the venetians and do the job of cutting out the light. Full length always look best.

Curtains. Romans would look strange imo.

We've got a similar issue to you OP except we have Roman blinds at the window instead of Venetian. Spent a fortune getting them made but in the summer the gaps round the edges let in so much light I have to cram cushions onto the windowsill just to be able to sleep 😣. Anyway I've looked at lots of options and am going to bite the bullet and get new outer recess blinds to replace the current inner ones. But I did look at other options and I think curtains would look best for you. I don't adhere to this floor length curtain nonsense either, short ones are absolutely fine.
