I really need some help to dress this room for sale of house. It's part of open plan room, the other half has same colour walls but has teal rug, and cushions, some of the cushions have teal/lime/natural colour in them. Also has glass, silver, modern clean look with BIG multi fuel burner and dark brown leather couches.

The side I need to dress is shown in the photos. It's very "woody" and dull atm and I'm just not sure which way to go. I don't want to spend a lot as it's just for sale photos. I don't really like the set of mirrors on the wall so they could go... oh and the washing will be gone along with the child's desk. I don't want to buy any new furniture... What do you think? A big rug under the table? What colours would subtly blend from the first room into this dining room and make it warmer / cosier? I'm lost!

It needs some colour. I would add a large rug, open the blinds up and get a huge vase of flowers for the table

  1. Put large mirror on wall above side board. This will reflect light and brighten that side of room.
  2. Remove some items from top of sideboard to make less cluttered. Place that plant in centre of sideboard.
  3. Hang large artwork/canvass painting above radiator.
  4. Remove the smaller framed mirrors. And place tall plant in that corner.
  5. Place a Teal coloured table runner along the length of the table.
  6. Only place one thing in centre of table. Either the candles you have or some flowers/Orchid plant.
  7. Rug under table - not necessary.

Don't go mad, buyers know they're not buying the furnishings, but a large colourful pic over radiator, a yuka or palm plant and open the blinds completely.
