Under stairs cupboard

Hello - we've just had a quotes for what is almost a wardrobe under the stairs ie put doors in, a rail and some shelf's. Nothing fancy and out of MDF but the quote is £1100? I have no idea if this is reasonable or not ?

Has anyone else had anything similar done or have any ideas about price ?

Get two more quotes and see before you make a decision. It may be usual.

Sounds ok to me, we have been quoted £1350 to do something similar and £2400!! I thought the £1350 was high but going with it now as we know the carpenters work so will do a good job.

Sounds ridiculous but it depends on the work I suppose. If its a big cupboard with lots of shelving and awkward space?
I am paying £300 to have the whole loft floored and a retractable ladder put in so yours sounds a lot. I have got some floorboards myself but its a big loft!

Cant you put up the shelves yourselves and save money?

how many days work and what are the material costs? Generally, I think chippies want £200-250 per day and then materials on top.

This is my inbuilt shoe cupboard, the materials were about £50 and DH did it in a day and a half
