Electric heaters / fires

Any recommendations for electric heaters?
We have oil central heating.The living room needs more than the central heating alone to keep it warm in winter and we have a multi-fuel stove which I loathe with a passion.

On the days when I don't want to light the stove I want an electric heater.
In fact I'd be happy never to light the stove if we could heat the room without. I'm using a wheeled oil radiator atm but would like something wall mounted.
Running costs not a priority but it must be programmable. A wall mounted one would be fine or something free standing that would hide go in front on the stove.

We have it in a room at the top of the house which the kids (teenagers) use as an extra living room - they keep all their Playstation/Xbox stuff up there. Can be programmed to come on when the room temperature falls below a certain level, etc.
