Grey bedroom

I know, they're nearly everywhere now and not super exciting but we have light grey walls and have ordered a new bed which is darker grey at the base and headboard.

We thought we had about 6 weeks before it would arrive but it's now coming this week. I've to get new bedding because it's larger than what we have and need to order today. I'm useless with what matches, colours that work and all that and DH just said 'whatever you think' so can I please ask you all for your help as what I should look for.

Is another bit of grey too much, or would darker work,navy or black? Any opinions or suggestions would be amazing, thank you!!

Pale pink looks nice with grey if you don’t want to add a bright colour.

We have a pale grey set & a white set with grey piping. We have quite colourful curtains & I'm in the lookout for a set which picks out the colour

Im not a fan of patterned duvets but there are lots to choose from in plains and patterned

I’d go for a crisp white duvet cover, you can then always choose a throw of a different colour (ochre goes well!) but I think all grey will be too much.

I have the pioneer bedding from dunelm with a navy velvet throw in my grey room. I love it.

I'm with Janus with suggesting white.

You can add more colour with a throw or some cushions, etc.

I agree, plain white with nice throw, curtains and/or cushions. Orange would also go well as an accent colour.

Totally go with plain white. Will brighten the room and look great. I have a old pine bed in our spare room, which I painted a very pale grey with chalk paint, and with the white bed linen it looks fantastic. Surprisingly so. 🤣

I also like a throw across the bottom of the bed, but you might not want one. I have a silvery grey one on it.

Grey is soooooooooooo dreary that I would go for something really colourful and cheerful. Sod being stylish - look where that’s got you!

Most of my house is grey (cue all of Mumsnet screaming blue murder!) - but I agree with PP, white linen and coloured throws are the way forward. They really lift the room.

I just love white bedding!! You can often get good deals in TK max for good quality cotton hotel quality bedding!!

I think soft pink, sage green and golden yellow go well with grey.

Teal, mustard and most shades of blue or pink go well with grey for a splash of colour.

Oh god! I'm definitely not advertising, I'm sure loads of place do nice bedding! :) I linked to the stuff I bought recently as it's been quite a find for me as DH has a lot of allergies and this stuff seems to be fine for him and it makes me so happy! I also liked that you get a free trial to try it out as I've bought so much that i've ended up having to give away as I obviously usually can't return it after it's been used and DH has decided it doesn't agree with him.

White and touches of yellow would look great. Could also get away with a strong blue or even orange.

We have a very similar bedroom! I have F&B Cornforth White on the walls and a dark grey upholstered bed. All my bedding is white, and looks lovely. I have a beautiful textured blanket throw from Urbanara.

@Bluntness100 , what a great idea to paint your bed! I have a pine bed that’s too dominating in my grey bedroom - can I ask what you actually used? You mention chalk paint so do I just look for ‘grey chalk paint’, did you use a particular brand? Thank you!
