Fitting a bath instead of disabled wetroom

Hi there.
I have moved to my new council flat over 18 month ago with my 2 DD.The bathroom has just a disabled walk in shower, which looks ugly and unconvenient to wash in or clean it!! When I called the council once , I was told that as I took the property as it is they can fit a bath for me unless I want to do it myself and pay for it.PS: When I was offered the place,it was my first and final offer so had no choice to refuse it !!
Can anyone advice if I have a right to have a bath please? And how to approach the council about it? Much appreciated

It sounds to me like you can't get them to pay for a bath, that's fair enough tbh as you knew already that they wouldn't.

If you accepted the property and it’s has washing facilities then you have no right to demand they change it. There focus will be on people with no home first. They don’t have the funds for refurbishments although you could pay if you dislike it. Maybe enquire locally for quotes to fit a bath?
