I'm having roman blackout blinds made for DD's room and new baby's room. We've always made do but I'm sick of having a gro band stuck up at DD's window. So I'm having some made.

DD's room is a very pale pink.
New baby's room is very pale blue, baby is a girl but it's not long been decorated and I love the colour so I'm not changing it!

What colour, pattern, style of blind can I get that won't be useless once they grow up a bit. Dd is only 3.

I had a look at fabrics in the shop briefly and there is such a vast selection I have no idea where to start!

The children have always had white blackout blinds and then curtains that match or compliment their bedding.

That way I can swap out the curtains every few years and get new ones but retain the blackout blind.

I tend to decorate the children's rooms every 4 years or so. But they don't have themes ie Peppa Pig or Marvel, just bright bedding and the paint colours are chosen from that.

A blackout lined Roman blind won’t block out nearly as much light as a gro blind as there will be big gaps around the edges. If you want true blackout, have a look at BlocOut or other similar products- they are called cassette blinds or zip blinds.
