Solar blinds for fly screening and privacy

I need to figure out what to do with the windows in my front room. I've had voiles up in summer for the past three years to stop the flies getting in (rural area) and at the front all year round to stop the local kids from staring at us (no idea what's so interesting but it's quite unnerving!).

I don't like the voiles - too similar to nets for my liking. Had anyone had any joy with solar roller blinds? Or can you suggest another alternative?

A friend has these:

The lighter "mesh" layer lets you see out (but no one see in) during the day so you still get to enjoy daylight without being stared at. The solid layer is blackout and is used at night to provide privacy. She rates them highly as her living room window overlooks the main part of a cul-de-sac and she was constantly being gawped at during the
school holidays when kids were playing directly outside her window.

Thanks MsMama. They look good. That's the exact same problem we have. There's barely any garden at the front so they stand and stare in - God only knows what it is that's so interesting. We're fairly dull!
