What to put it kitchen alcoves

Hi all, what can I put in my kitchen alcoves to make them look funky (if an alcove can look cool! 😂)? I have a butter dish, salt and pepper grinders, some gorgeous ceramic dishes, tagines and a fruit bowl in them at the mo, but they just look a bit ‘functional’ if that makes sense?! Thanks in advance.

Small plants, for example cacti, which seem to be in fashion at the moment so there is lots of choice.
One or two small ornaments which are a bit different. We have a mini version of those decorated cows, brightly striped!
Small coloured glass bottles.
You could just try looking around antique /junk shops to see if you come across anything of interest!
