Where did you buy your bed?

Looking for a super king bed and have to be careful with height of headboard. I've looked at John Lewis, Made.com, Laura Ashley and Made.com - but can't find anything I like that will fit. Really like one from loaf but they have dire customer service reviews and we have a sofa from them that is really badly made so put off. Where did you get yours from and has it been a good buy?

We have a super-king four poster. My father-in-law made it and gave it to us as a wedding present.

Sorry, not much help really.

King size from oak furniture land clearance. Got showroom orthopaedic mattress with it, all in for £360. I love it with all my heart.

We have a loaf bed and I love it. No issues at all, great service, delivery, everything.

earlybirdhasanap · 24/03/2019 16:12

We got ours from here www.getlaidbeds.co.uk we've had it for five years and I still love it. We got a solid oak one and it's still like new.

Taurus beds! Love them - not an option if you hate the idea of a wooden bed but they make lovely simple beds in a variety of styles which last well (our first has been relegated to the spare room after ten years). They also do some bedroom furniture to match if that matters to you.

Thank you so much all. Will check out some of these shops!

Look at Boxer Super King Storage Bed, very useful, very stylish

Drizzlehair · 27/03/2019 22:29

Warren Evans www.warrenevans.com

Handmade in the UK, British wood, beautiful beds, and not that pricey at all.

I think they permanent have about a third of their stock heavily reduced, the items switch every month or so. I decide what I want turban wait fir it to come round.

Lots of wood colour options

You can add your own mattress or buy one from there too, they're seat winning.

Cheaper than Loaf / John Lewis I think, certainly no more. And they do super king. I'm lying in one now, nice 👑

Drizzlehair · 27/03/2019 22:30

I decide what I want then wait for it to come round

Drizzlehair · 27/03/2019 22:31

And they're award winning

Really should check for typos before I post

snowplop · 27/03/2019 22:34

A fabulous super king from Warren Evans - excellent quality and significantly cheaper than anywhere else I looked.

snowplop · 27/03/2019 22:36

Oh no...Warren Evans ceased trading last year.

Drizzlehair · 27/03/2019 22:37

Noooooooo!

There may be some on ebay, they're so nice. Add a new mattress, perfection

So glad I bought enough beds for my house 2 yrs ago

Xiaoxiong · 27/03/2019 22:38

No they're still selling mattresses online! And the kids' mattresses are sold at cost. They're trying to get beds back for sale too eventually.

Our bed and mattress was also from Warren Evans and it's fantastic. I've tried friends' Eve and Simba mattresses and our Warren Evans one is better IMO and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Xiaoxiong · 27/03/2019 22:39

See here: warrenevans.com/beds/

"Over the years, I have built up a reputation for great quality beds, furniture and brilliant mattresses.
Now that I'm online only (and for the time being) I'm not able to sell beds and furniture. I hope to be able to do so in the near future (so sorry, it's disappointing for me too!).
Not having any shops means that I can offer the best prices on our best in category mattresses – our overheads are low, so I have put the savings back into quality and service.
With a free 40+40 proper home trial, free delivery and free and easy collections – we've made shopping for a handmade mattress simple. While we're at it, all our kids’ mattresses are sold at zero profit too!
So no matter where you buy your bed, you'll sleep better if you buy your mattress from us - I'm sure of that.
Please spread the word that we're back, we need your support.
Thanks
Warren"

snowplop · 28/03/2019 17:54

Ah, that's great that they're back up and running. I hope they'll be able to offer beds again in the future. We bought our mattress from John Ryan after trialling two Eve/Simba type ones. It's fabulous but was £££.

goldpendant · 29/03/2019 23:13

I LOVE Warren Evans. This might prompt me to upgrade to superking after all 👌🏻

YellowSock · 08/04/2019 10:07

Canterbury Oak is who manufactures our bed. I wanted a solid oak bed and they do a good range of them - then I just found a local independent stockist.

Beargrin · 08/04/2019 10:27

We got ours from the range - the headboard is quite low on it too?

My DDs bed came from groupon, my dad brought it. They had so many different options and the actual bed is lovely quality.
