Dekton worktops and table tops - Does anyone have either of these?

I visited the Ideal Home Exhibition yesterday.

I came across a material called Dekton for worktops and tabletops that I had not heard of before. There were a few suppliers offering it.

Dekton is supposed to be extremely tough. The tables were lovely but the worktop samples (at a show on the first day!) had a few chips on their 90 degree corners.

Does anyone have either a table or worktop in Dekton, are you happy with the way it is wearing? How long have you had it?

We are moving and I will need a new table and worktops. Currently I have Blue Pearl granite for both which shows nothing and always looks fabulous. In ten years we have just one tiny, and totally invisible, chip on the edge of a worktop. But I'm intrigued by this Dekton stuff.

I would be grateful for your experiences with this, I should say I am not a careful cook, nor a particularly careful diner.

Those chips worried me.

Only just saw this sorry. A friend has just had this and it looks lovely, no chips so far and put it on the advice of the kitchen designer. I am also looking at getting it and so far it has been highly recommended for someone like me ( i am careless and heavy handed.) not much help but maybe others have advice.

Thank you. Someone told me v it's like a diamond. Very hard but brittle on the weak points like edges.

Hi bit late to this post but hope that it helps.
I have had a matt white Dekton Zenith work top for 2 years now and it looks like new. Really no staining or marks, nothing until 2 weeks ago. It was sold to us a heat proof surface. It is actually heat proof to 300c. I put a pan from my oven on the top, left it while we had dinner and when i came back the work top had cracked. To say we were gutted is an understatement. The fitting company has been amazing and came out immediately (highly recommend them) but now I have to wait 3 weeks for Dekton to have a look at it. Not received the best customer service from Dekton. Would I have it again? probably not. Does it look fantastic yes. Have I been worried about it chipping on the edges yes, and the 2 samples which we took from the show room at old street which we use as trivets on our wood worktop have both chipped. If you would like photos of the kitchen (stunning ) or the work top please let me know and I can send them to you, or post here.
