Planning on painting my living room pearl colour by little greene, what colours for cushions/throws/general decor stuff would work well with it?

Got very similar on stairs/landing. It's a very natural colour.

This is when it was new/before I did the rest -

I have -

Seagrass stair runner with dark brown binding.

Fawn landing carpet (offcut for twenty quid, so I wasn't going to knock that).

White woodwork.

Dark wood picture frames.

A large mirror (it bounces light from the other upstairs rooms right into the darkest part of the stairwell) which happens to have a bronze toned carved frame/is aged because it's old and bashed around, not because it's pretending to be old

I think if you look to nature, you won't go far wrong.

Pink and turquoise would work with pale sage green, I love all these colours and use them together quite a bit.

Lavender/lilac would be lovely. Or a pale yellow. Or a pale pink. Greys and white of course.

Mitzi- what paint did you use please? That's a really beautiful colour. Which way does your light from that bedroom come? East?

MitziK · 24/03/2019 11:50

It's Craig and Rose 1829 in Tapestry. (took a while to find where its sold now, as b&q don't seem to do it anymore - Home base and their own site). Loved painting with the range - detested Crown and Dulux - it just felt nice to use.

I'm lucky with the light (until somebody toshes up some flats), as the house points southeast and has uninterrupted sunlight at the front until around 3pm (two largish windows in that room really helps, too).

Thank you Mitzi! They still have C&R in our local homebase, so will take a look.

Just painted my long living room wall overtly olive Dulux and I love it. I have dark brown leather sofas and ochre/mustard curtains thought it might feel dark as the wall was antique cream but itfeels nice and calm and cosy at night.

I have a similar colour in my bedroom and creams to fawns are lovely with it. I bought lampshades in citron , a yellow green and they work really well too. I likebrownish black on the doors to ground it. It is the best colour to display art against, bright colours sing and more subdued colours also come into their own. I have had this colour for 6 years now, bedroom had t be redecorated after big house issue and I had it redone the same!

I read a blog by a designer who treats green as a neutral and puts anything with it - it works in nature so why not indoors? Especially sage as it has such a grey base.

My first thought is mustard yellow but also navy, pink...

minipie · 03/04/2019 23:00

Any kind of brown or browny neutral from pale linen to deep chocolate
Any pink from soft raw plaster/blush to magenta
Gold, brass, mustard, ochre
Navy especially the more deep/inky, less royal blue versions
Creams, stone colours and off whites

Place making - sorry

JosephineHass · 04/04/2019 20:15

Lavender, terracotta, white, off white, darker green, yellow colours and any natural and white woodwork.
And wicker decor may go nicely as well.

Bea2663 · 07/04/2019 17:36

Lavenders, soft lemons and blue-greys, blue-greens would look lovely!

@ihavetogoshoppingnow
how did you get on? Thinking of painting my own living room this colour

Comefromaway · 18/05/2022 12:47

I love C & R colours. They are so much nicer than Farrow & Ball
