I'm moving in to my new house soon, would you have blinds or curtains up at this window/door or a mix of both. If blinds which style?
What else would you have in the room or on the walls. The colours I want are grey, teal and mustard but not sure which accessories to have what colour.

After zooming in on the photo it looks over looked so I would have blinds up. You probably need to live there a little while to see if that’s a cold draughty door. You can have both- blinds for the summer only.
Then add the curtains In
The winter for a more cosy feel. I’ve done this before.

Blinds, although a friend of mine just had shutters fitted and they look absolutely fabulous. Not cheap though.

I would put a blind on the door, and curtains at the window, partly because it is very office looking.

BUT, depending on your soft furnishings, blinds might look sleek. I love the white wooden slatted ones, they are very scandinavian looking.

If you are brave a mustard sofa with teal and grey cushions would be amazing.

Is it a door that will be used frequently? I've got friends with a curtain over their front door and it's a bit awkward, might be worth bearing in mind.

Yes the door will get quite a bit of use. What style blind at the door as it's going to be really long ?

Do you need a blind all the way to the bottom of the door? Perhaps you could do a blind on the upper section, then apply a modesty acrylic to the bottom section. (Meaning a frosted section, which can be done either in a solid piece or in a more graphic style. These are easy to apply yourself.)

you need to have a think about how you will use the room and who can see in through the window.

eg, if you come down the stairs in your undies to make your coffee, you need different window covers to if you never do that!

If you want to ensure some privacy, but aren't bothered by light coming in, or worried about cold draughts, then using the frosted glass sticker stuff on the door may be enough. You could have a curtain that is only used when you go up to bed.

Actually looking at the door, there is no place on the left for a curtain, so I would definitely use a blind on the door

big comfy sofa under the stairs
large picture on the wall opposite
Tv to right of the window.

Colour in the sofa and picture and then other things grey and white.
