I know this was popular in the 1990s but I’m doing up a house and would like to move doors/walls around. Can anyone recommend a good Feng Sui book? I’ve got Lilian Too.

Yes, by all means come on and say this is all bollocks. But humour me.

Interesting and such a good idea! Don't know of any books though for knocking through walls.

I think like many superstitions, feng shui started with sound aesthetic ideas about flow of space, how to arrange items in your home and surroundings, and the general "feel" of where you live. Over time this became codified into rules backed up with silly superstitious ideas about your soul seeing itself in mirrors and stuff. But I think a lot of the ideas are actually quite good ones in an aesthetic or practical sense.

For example, there's a "rule" that if you can see your back door from your front that the energy or qi flowing into your house will flow out again. But you know what does flow between two outside doors, unless you take steps to block it or stagger the doors off centre...drafts of cold air! So I think that's where that "rule" came from.

I don't think I'd bother buying a book as there is so much free online and on Pinterest though.

Thanks - I’ll look online. I agree most of it is basic design ideas and decluttering.
