Does your china ‘go with’ your dining room decor?

Just that really, planning new dining room and colour/style doesn’t have anything in common with our posh china. Would that bother you?

No, we've got an Oak dining table and chairs, oak flooring and cream walls and the crockery is grey and white. The Christmas stuff matches better randomly.

JessicaCH · 09/03/2019 08:31

I think it would probably not bother me. What colour are you planning for the walls, and what colour is your china?

mando12345 · 09/03/2019 08:38

Depends, if i was using the dining room everyday and my everyday China matched then fine, it would look lovely for the majority of time I used it,
If I just used the dining room for entertaining then it would bother me add it would always be a mismatch. I would buy some pain plain write China in this case.

Purely by chance our IKEA plates etc match our curtains! Not planned just another random buy at IKEA that actually worked out well!

WizzyBee · 09/03/2019 08:41

Is this a thing? Really?

Having a mixture of inherited stuff/ikea/argos/odd plates that I saw in a charity shop and liked, my 'china' doesn't even go with itself!

China is white - best and everyday so everything works with eating in the dining room and kitchen.

QuietlyQuaffing · 09/03/2019 15:21

It wouldn't enter my head unless there was a huge and obvious clash. Even then, it might not.

We've never matched stuff like that deliberately, but we both like the blue end of the palette, so our things tend to blend in together.

Slowknitter · 09/03/2019 15:24

This is why we always have plain white china.

Bluesheep8 · 16/03/2019 12:59

My plates are all white. I've never considered this before
