What door handles for flat in Regency terrace?!

I've recently bought a flat in a Regency terrace in Brighton and am having it renovated. I bought these door handles thinking they were pretty neutral and that they would go with the chrome in the kitchen and bathroom (e.g. brushed chrome cupboard handles in kitchen, chrome heated towel rail etc in bathroom): amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006J70RLK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1]]

However, now that they've been fitted, I think they maybe look too modern for the flat. I'm wondering whether to change them, and if so, to what. Considering these: www.screwfix.com/p/turnberry-lob-latch-door-handles-pair-black/7532h What do you think?

I don't want to get anything super expensive - I've seen some door handles for over £40 and even over £100!

Very grateful for any thoughts or suggestions!

The Screwfix ones are definitely better! Or plain brass knobs rather than handles would work.

Friends have ones similar to these in their period property and they are beautiful

Gorgeous in wood:

It's hard to say without actually seeing your flat and how it's decorated but my first thought was plain brass knobs as well.

I think two you've linked both go a little too far in opposite directions but the second one is definitely better.
The shape of the second one is really nice but the weird patina and the black paint is a little much.

@TheClitterati Thank you very much for those links.
@pizzabadger Thanks for your comment - I’ve also been wondering whether the second one was a bit much - maybe looks a bit more like something that would look right in a barn! My flat has wood flooring and the walls in pale neutral colours, so quite simple decor.

Now wondering about these! The doors in my flat are white, so these might look unobtrusive: www.screwfix.com/p/porcelain-mortice-knobs-pair-white-60mm/7162h

Sorry to bore on here!! I love these, from the website to which TheClitterati very kindly provided a link: www.willowandstone.co.uk/Door-Knobs-Handles/solid-brass-regency-door-knobs-pair-.php
I don’t know though whether they would look a bit random on plain white doors - maybe they’d be more in keeping with wooden doors? Also, as described above, my decor is quite simple, rather than massively Regency. Aiming for door knobs that are in keeping with the building but without looking over the top in a simple flat!

Those are all much nicer. I think I'd go for one of the brass ones.

JessicaCH · 05/03/2019 19:16

Thank you so much for your replies! @Imperfectsusan, those ones are lovely too! I agree that the brass ones are nicest! I’m wondering whether they’d look ok with a modern kitchen and bathroom, or whether to have brass ones for the kitchen and living room and white ones for the kitchen and bathroom - but all the doors open off the hallway, so I’m wondering whether it would look odd not to have all the knobs the same! (Here’s a photo of my flat, showing the kitchen - please excuse the state of it, as it’s in the middle of being renovated!)

*I meant brass ones for the bedroom and living room

Those brass knobs are a great example of functional beauty. I think you will smile every time you use them
Personally I'd do all the handles the same.

You are right, they are beautiful! Think I will get them! Thank you very much for your help!
