Hi 👋🏻

Do any of you have dulux mellow mocha painted anywhere in their home? If so I don't suppose you could share a pic for me to see? I'm considering having it in living room, I do have a tester pot but it's hard imagining it on a much larger area. I am a long time poster, but I'm mainly on the s&b threads I'm not just a random weirdo, promise lol. Tia

I've only tried it from a tester pot I'm afraid. If you use Facebook then you could try doing a search on 'DIY on a budget official' group, there's usually someone that's posted a picture using the colour you want. I've searched loads of paint colours on there to get an idea.

Painted our living room in this yesterday. Will try and upload a pic- it's the lighter colour in the pic x

Be careful with this. I used it and it looked a dreadful germolene pink. We papered over it. My sister used it and hated it too.

Oh thanks everyone! Unfortunately I'm not on Facebook!

I have a chocolate brown sofa and purple cushions, curtains and accessories. Was looking for a colour to paint all walls to compliment both the chocolate brown and the purples I have in the room. I don't want dark colours I currently have 2 Cadbury purple walls but want to come away from this and have something neutral. Someone recommended mellow mocha as they had it and said it goes lovely with purple and brown. Will probably have white furniture in the room too.

Dulux Wild Mushroom may work for you. Its a purply brown (or browny purple!) that comes in a variety of shades from very pale to dark - we have the mid tone in our bedroom and it's lovely

FairyLightBlanket45 · 27/02/2019 19:25

I’ve used Mellow moca and Gentle Fawn around the house - Gf doesn’t have as much of the “pink/lilac” tone that MM can sometimes have (largely based on light) - might be worth a try!

Thanks for your help so far I really appreciate it x

It's really pink, @mintmagnummm - I just painted a bedroom in it and expected a soft, creamy coffee-beige but it's the colour of unfinished plaster. I really don't like it :-(

Red it doesn't look pink in that picture at all, maybe it's the lighting?

Yeah, I was thinking that too, @mintmagnummm 😄 But it definitely is pink - not the creamy beige I thought it would be. It's a nice enough colour but I would definitely use a tester pot first to see if you like it.

mintmagnummm · 01/03/2019 11:14

Thanks @RedPandaFluff. I have a tester pot but because not decorating just yet I can only do it on small area which is hidden behind wall art lol. I really don't know what colour will work with my colours 🤦🏼‍♀️

I painted a bedroom in this but it turned out nothing like the sample colour; DH said it was more like battleship grey. Think it depends a lot on the aspect of the room it’s in. We painted over it in the end because it was too grey.

RogueV · 01/03/2019 23:14

I will tell you a story about mellow mocha.

Paid a decorator a lot of money to paint my large kitchen this colour.
I returned home after a few days when w decorator was finishing off the utility room - my arse is it ‘mocha’ it’s a nasty pinkish colour.

Had to go and find another colour and pay the decorator double to repaint!

So if you like pink go for it Confused

ShouldHaveListenedInBiology · 01/03/2019 23:19

I have it in my bathroom and it’s a lovely pinky lilac, will take a photo for you tomorrow. It’s the bathroom sheen finish though so it might be different?

ShouldHaveListenedInBiology · 01/03/2019 23:20

But yes it’s not mocha!

winecigsandchoc · 01/03/2019 23:33

It turns out purple! Which is okay if that's what you want... but not if you're going for a neutral palette and now it's 3 years later and you've had to cave with accents of Roman Empire purple in your bedroom

mintmagnummm · 02/03/2019 07:20

I'm even more confused now lol! I have a chocolate brown sofa but purple cushions, rug, curtains, lamp etc. I want to paint walls a colour that will compliment this but something soft and warm. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

We used it in the master bedroom of our last house. Don’t have pics I’m afraid but it was really quite lilac and not at all what we were expecting.

monalisasmiler · 08/04/2019 17:51

Hi I like your colour over the firepalce Flower0503 what is it please x

Flower0503 · 08/04/2019 18:54

I think it's cocoa blush 4 by dulux, thank you😀

CarrieBlu · 08/04/2019 19:54

I love that colour too Flower, it’s just what I’ve been looking for. Off to find it now!

wowfudge · 08/04/2019 20:46

Mellow Mocha was lilac on our living room walls. We changed it to Caramel Latte.

Dewysungoddess · 08/04/2019 21:25

I have found the dulux Visualizer app useful when planning what colour what suits the room on different times of the day
