Dh very helpfully bought and installed the wrong type of sink unit, so now we have a gap that needs filling.
What would you put in that space?

A hand towel rail. Not very imaginative but useful.

Hot4Holes · 20/02/2019 15:20

Is it easy to drill in to tiles?

mimibunz · 20/02/2019 15:21

Spare towels and loo roll? The tiles are gorgeous!! May I ask where you got them?

Hot4Holes · 20/02/2019 15:22

Just from b&q mimi.

What about a very thin shelf thing that sits up the side for spare towels or toilet rolls?. Might be tricky to find the right size so probably easy to make with some palets or spare wood. Otherwise, thin towel rail for a handtowel?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 20/02/2019 16:31

I'd say free standing towel rail.

ChishandFips33 · 20/02/2019 16:33

LTB!
Could it not be re-sited in the middle - that would p me off every day!

Felicia4 · 20/02/2019 16:35

Not sure about your measurements but something like this maybe?

What would you put here?
AhFeck · 20/02/2019 16:37

Sorry but I'd have to get it moved into the centre and tiles put on the left side as you can see a very obvious gap where there is nothing on the wall.

If you're happy to live with it like that you could put a laundry bin next to it maybe? But honestly it would drive me fucking mad and I'd probably avoid using that bathroom Blush

PresidentHump · 20/02/2019 16:41

Why on earth didn't he exchange for the right one?! Looks awful. I'd find it maddening.

dudsville · 20/02/2019 16:41

A bigger unit to fill the space would be ideal. Failing that I'd go with shelving, it will always look odd though.

Stoplosingthedarnkeys · 20/02/2019 16:47

I would fold your DH into the correct shape and stuff him in there. What on earth was he thinking?

Hot4Holes · 20/02/2019 17:18

Bless him, he just didn’t think.
I can live with it but think it definitely needs something next to it. It’s only the downstairs loo so not the end of the world.

I think a tall unit could work. Will have to measure up. I’m v tempted by the suggestion of folding him up and stuffing him in the gap though! I could do a little diamanté trim around his feet Grin

burritofan · 20/02/2019 17:40

Fern in a tall plant stand, bathroom bin, or towel ring as pps suggested... or DH's head on a spike for doing this?!

Are you going to have a mirror above basin? Will you get one that fills the space and centre it, or have it lopsided to go with basin?

Notso · 20/02/2019 18:00

You are more forgiving than me OP!
I'd get shelves or another cupboard built to fit the gap.

flirtygirl · 20/02/2019 18:42

Get it put in the centre or even a new sink unit, hate the ones where the sink juts out, it just looks dated.

Sorry but I would get him to at the very least move it.

Tiles are lovely.

PresidentHump · 20/02/2019 21:24

Re do it op - presumably you're going to live with this for years. What a shame to re do the bathroom and have it done badly! Suck it up, do it again and then you don't have to worry about what to put in that dust gathering useless space!

Bluntness100 · 20/02/2019 21:26

That would bug me every time I looked at it. It should be centred. I'd have it redone to be honest, sorry op.

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 20/02/2019 21:26

Posh vase +twigs!!

imanoldbattleaxe · 20/02/2019 21:51

Waste bond, towel rail

pepperjack · 20/02/2019 22:06

I couldn't live with that either, sorry.

iknowimcoming · 20/02/2019 22:28

LTB! Grin

BettysMom · 20/02/2019 22:48

Tall, thin plant? Bamboo?

ChishandFips33 · 21/02/2019 09:38

You are way more understanding than I am, little used room or not.

I honestly couldn't use it, therefore DH would take ownership of its upkeep and cleaning forever more that'll teach him

My DH is doing ours shortly and I now feel the need to take the time off too to supervise make sure he's well fed and watered
