Help! I currently have a small kids wooden ikea table that is overflowing with colouring books, pens, pencils, pencil cases, magazines, paper etc. Everything is currently in piles, which means dd’s can’t actually use the table and when they try to, everything goes everywhere! The sight of it is annoying me.
What solutions have you found that mean things are accessible but tidy and maybe even stylish?

Drawers. Lots of them.
Different things in different drawers, because they will dump the whole load out when they want something - eg pens in one, pencils another, stickers another.
I have some Ikea Trofast with the shallow tubs for big items, and some small clear drawers for pens and things (clear so they can see what’s there and get them without my help) - bit like this

We have two kitchen cupboards, a drawer in their bedroom and a set of plastic shelves for this type of stuff. We have lots!

Thanks Rubaiy I’ve been looking at drawers like your amazon link but they are a bit too practical looking iyswim.
And no space for ikea trofast - although I could re-think that corner a bit.......

Oh I should also say paints, glitter and all that sort of stuff is already in a cabinet/unit. It’s the paper and pens / pencils that are making me scratch my head!

I kept my nappy change table which has three levels (for storing nappies etc. and the top part for nappy changing) as an art trolley. Bottom is for cardboard stuff, second shelf for large easel paper, top has all sorts of craft stuff sorted into different containers. I also have some drawers for additional art stuff.

I think this is a cute idea for plastic drawers, making them look like paint swatches.

If you want something nicer, I think you should simply be looking for nice drawer units in the style that you like.

I was going to suggest the IKEA trolley! They're great.

Found something similar on the dreaded amazon and it’s currently winging its way to me! Thanks all. Will update....

Op I was coming on to suggest that EXACT thing! I have one from ikea and it’s fab. At the moment think it comes in a darker blue and a cream color. I got the blue and it’s really nice. And perfect for craft stuff bc they can actually see what they have! I use a leveled tray separator thing on the middle level so they can get different types of paper without making a huge mess. And the best part is you can just roll it into a closet if you’re having people over.

Powergower · 09/02/2019 12:03

The hobby craft sale is great!! Thank you birthdayhat!! Do you know if the trolley is the same height as the Ikea one?

Birthdayhat · 10/02/2019 07:23

From what I remember the dimensions were the same although I don't have an ikea one...

We use these drawers for pens, pencils, glue, sellotape. (Cheaper in Morrisons than Dunelm)

And the 6 cube unit for paint, paper & colouring books.
