Does anyone have a non-wooden dining table that is easy to keep clean?

ours is a 20 year old M&S wood veneer which has been used for everything from painting/crafting and the surface is so wrecked I always have a table cloth on it. I’d like a more practical one, don’t mind using table cloths for special occasions but am sick of constantly having to wash them. Does anyone have any recommendations please? Thanks :-)

I was fed up with tablecloths too. I bought a Dublin table from habitat made from glass with oak legs.

I posted in another thread, but we had a glass piece cut to fit on top of our wooden table.

That’s a great idea, thank you I will look into it. You’re not in the Manchester areby any chance?

@Strumpetpumpet I’m not, but there are places that do it and will ship it to you. Custom glass isn’t cheap, but could be worth it if you have a nice table that you want to invest in. There are also plexiglass options which would be cheaper.

Or of course a simple table with a glass top would be more economical!

I have a round granite table top. It's indestructible. From Fishpools in Waltham Cross.

Glass is reasonable from Jewson and other builders yards. Acrylic can be bought online and from ebay also.

One option is an affect of granite, search ebay and they can often cut a piece that almost the right size to fit and then you would go and collect.. I've done this last option and I've had glass to fit tables very cheaply via suppliers found on ebay.

Such a good question. I have a funky white table with a single stem leg. But we have wrecked it! I am also sick of washing tablecloths. I'm not sure about glass.... Fingerprints?!! Any other ideas.

We have an oil cloth tablecloth that just wipes clean - no need to wash it. It's fab! And they have loads of nice designs and colours.
