Been living here for the past year. Gorgeous views out of window. However it's becoming increasingly busy with runners, pedestrians and neighbours parking outside front and they can see right into lounge window.

Until now I've not really cared but I'm starting work soon. I'd like to put a lamp on a timer and make it less obvious house unoccupied all day long.

I've considered window film but I don't want to lose my ability to see out. Plus when light on it'll be see through if I use that two way film.

Vertical blinds remind me of waiting rooms.

Venetian blinds seem only choice. Pull up when not required. It's going to really darken the room though isn't it!?

I'd prefer wooden but we had those at a previous rental. Cat broke a slat. I know my toddler would prob do the same.

Thinking plastic/ aluminum. Currently have white walls and grey carpets. Walls might change soon. Would you choose grey or white blinds. They are expensive so hoping they'll last years.......

You can film the bottom half of the windows, so you can still see out of the top?

You can buy thin white blinds that let the light in but mean you can't see in. I haven't used them but a friend has them and they seem like a good updated version of nets

HSMMaCM I thought that but because of the elevation and my height I wouldn't see a thing!

Wow that looks interesting! But it's £110!

Not sure but I think it's something like this: www.dunelm.com/product/iridescent-white-sheer-roller-blind-1000111853

I'd probably search for something like 'privacy blinds'

Voiles?

Wondering the same thing. Don't like nets, but none of the other options quite suit. And because they are so expensive, why would I buy any of them when I don't really like them?

How about shutters (leave top ones open but close the bottom ones)

Or day and night blinds.

Had the same issue combined with a husband who closed the curtains all day so we got dayand night blinds. They are ideal. We can see out, no-one can see in.
