Asda corner sofa - waste of money??

We are about to buy our first house and we have nothing!
It is obviously coming as a surprise to us how much everything costs, because we are idiots.

With our budget having to get bigger all the time I was really excited to find a corner sofa on asdas website for around £600 - ridiculously cheaper than everywhere else!

But do you get what you pay for? Has any one bought this sofa, is it alright? We only need it toast a few years and then hopefully we'll be able to upgrade.

Dunelm, argos and ikea all do corner sofas for around that. What about the interest free offers at places like DFS as well?

I have loads of dogs, so refuse to buy sofas new. There are amazing ones in auction houses, charity furniture shops and on FB selling groups.

I got a fantastic leather sofa off ebay for £60 and my current large one is from BHF.

I took apart a Harvey's one intending to reupholster it and it was cardboard and rough bits of wood.

Even better, go to the Ministry of Upholstery and make one for posh shop sofa money, fantastic courses!

And trek round a load of shops, I tried a lot of expensive ones and wasn't that comfortable.

I've no idea about the Asda sofa.

I have had one from Argos that was a cheapy one, and it did last a few years.

Have you considered second hand? There are some bargains to be had. Sil got some second hand ones for £200 and they have outlived our £1000 DFS ones.

I don't know about the asda sofas, but check out Ikea too, we've just got a great one in the sale, next day delivery too so no hanging about for weeks on end, self assembly though but it's pretty much straight forward, well if me & DH managed it, anyone can!

I bought a corner sofa from ASDA five years ago for 500 and was surprised how good quality it was - it’s lasted well, definitely comparable to a sofa from DFS for half the price
