Has anyone ever machine washed an Ikea Alvine Rug?

If so, how did it go?

Mine has gotten so dirty I’m tempted to pop it in the machine put it on a delicate wash but nervous it will get destroyed.

The Ikea website recommends:

Care instructions
Do not wash.
Do not bleach.
Do not tumble dry.
Do not iron.
Do not dryclean.
Vacuum and rotate the rug regularly.

Dry spots; remove immediately by scraping carefully towards the middle of the spot.

Wet spots; do not rub. Absorb with paper towels, damp with cloth and mild detergent.

Professional carpet cleaning when needed.

Always use the standard floorhead, never the rotating brush, when vaccum cleaning the rug.

I wouldn't risk it unless you can afford to replace it.
