Am I just being fussy? - curtains

I recently ordered some made to measure curtains, they arrived today and I am very happy with the colour, texture and pattern .... BUT when they are open they look like 2 different colour curtains because of how they have been made, the placement of the eyelet holes means one curtain has the light colour stripe pushed out and the other has the dark stripe pushed out, this means when they are open one curtain looks darker than the other. Is this normal and something I should live with or is this is a defect that I should be complaining about?

You've threaded them up wrong . On one curtain the rail goes in-front of the pale stripe and on the other curtain it goes behind leading to the darker part if the curtain being in the forefront

No, you're not being fussy at all if these were made to measure.
Assuming that you have hung them correctly (and it sounds like you have) they have cocked up.
The phrase you need to use to the company is "pleating to pattern"
Doing this properly is what distinguishes a professional curtain maker from "someone who makes curtains occasionally"

They've not threaded them on wrong. The end of the curtains should be on the wall side on both ends on both sides. They are on the pole correct.

Send them back ...im a curtain Maker and ..even without seeing picture ...i can tell you they have send you 2 odd curtains ... not intentionally ..there was a mix up when either cutting or sewing ......but looks totally wrong .... eyelets are in the correct place ...but on the wrong piece of fabric ...
