Copper lining paper/film for lampshade

Bit of a long shot but does anyone know how I can give a plain lampshade a copper (reflective) inner makeover?
Similar to those Made.com lampshades that are all the rage Grin

I have a copper lined table lamp(shade) and I love the warm tone it throws off - I'd like my floor lamp to match. It's hard enough to find oval lampshades and virtually none of them have a copper lining. By contrast plenty of the cylindrical/drum shapes do! The shade I have isn't that big, I'd need less than a metre.

I found a tutorial on a US website but I can't find copper/metallic adhesive contact paper anywhere online.

My shade wasn't cheap, I was hoping I could transform it on a budget rather than spend another £20 on materiald Confused

I don't think coppery wallpaper or paint is going to cut it Grin

I don't have Hobbycraft in my town, not sure if they'd stock that kind of thing. It doesn't even have to be self-adhesive Smile

Not to worry, I think I've found the solution in DC-Fix maybe!

This is proper lampshade material that is flame retardant, pretty much the same as DC-fix, they sell kits also.

Thanks Fritzy! I found that one just before I discovered the DC Fix (at Wilko no less) but I was deterred by the price plus P&P Grin

I did my son’s lampshade with a silver lining recently. I used silver mirrored sticky back plastic (again Wilko) and it’s come out ok. Tricky to get it 100% flat with no bubbles but he hasn’t noticed. I might have tried harder if it was for the living room Smile. Was about £5 a roll and you get stacks.

Thanks! I don't even mind if it's not perfect, I'd just like it to match the copper base/standard lamp. Viva Wilko Grin

I am beginning to feel almost as fond of Wilko as I did of Woolies. Good luck with your project.

Thanks! They're great aren't they. I'm very fond of their affordable gardening range too Smile
