Bathroom flooring options

We're talking to an interior designer who recommended a rubber floor for our new bathroom.

Does anyone have any thoughts? She said it was practical and warm and modern. I see the first two, and am not sure about the third point.

I'd love to know if anyone has a rubber floor and if they like it.

OR how about this sort of thing which she's also suggested - sort of vinyl tiles. www.harveymaria.com/Floor-Range/Cath-Kidston-for-harveymaria

Interested to know thoughts!

I've also heard that rubber floors are good for heat retention but they always look too utilitarian - as if they belong in a leisure centre changing room.

The vinyl tile ranges by Neisha Crosland and Dee Hardwicke on www.harveymaria.com are nice. Cath Kidston designs became a bit too mainstream and were everywhere. Orla Kiely had the same problem. They became too recognisable.

Our architect recommended vinyl and we are having this fitted in our bathroom next week:

Thank you both, for confirming my suspicions about rubber flooring, and also for the vinyl advice.

I've been looking at just that design MarmiteTermite! I have ordered samples of it in mist and think it's very pretty. Encouraged to hear you like it too, and glad your architect suggested it as well.

Thank you

I will post a pic when it’s been fitted - hopefully this week...!

I'd love to see it! Thank you

I have white cork - warm, environmentally ok (I think) and hated by 99% of MN (who have had to chisel off 1970s cork from their houses - it's changed ok, you lay it like the plastic wood that MN loves ..)

I have the mist sample too and it’s lovely! Just didn’t quite go with our dark grey vanity unit unfortunately.

If you need advice, you can try to fill in a free quote, and they will give you several choices to pick from. I tried it and just loved it. The site that I used was this probuilderquote.co.uk/
