Anyone ever restrung a crystal chandelier?

I bought a beautiful chandelier via our local classifieds but the wires/strings that hold the crystals are decayed and brittle and the crystals fall off. What wire/string should I use to repair/replace the hanging crystal strings?
Am not resident in UK, live in hot humid island climate (salt air has probably affected the durability). Many types of fishing line available here but any specialist wire can be ordered from USA. I just don't know what to order.

Thank you so much for any help. Pic shows chandelier in owners house when I visited to view.

It's an American website and they have those lovely candle tip bulbs that the blo*dy EU banned and I can't get anymore.

@beanaseireann Do you mean these?

MsMamaNature
Thank you but it's the opaque version of those I'm looking for.

This is possibly a stupid question but why were they banned? I'd never heard of that before.

OMG Thank you Mama.
I have DH and my dcs demented because I keep asking them to turn off the lights as the bulbs are impossible to get.
DH sarkily replied that we could sit in the dark and use candles😀
The older ones were banned by EU because they weren't energy efficient.
I had even thought that with Brexit they might reappear on the shelves in the UK.
I'm in Ireland and they are impossible to get.
How do you know so much about lighting ?
I'm intrigued

@beanaseireann I'm in NI. I'm interested in all types of interiors/home design so spend far too much time on Houzz, Pinterest, etc. I have a very long list of what I want to do and what I want to buy. Once I start clicking on links I end up down a rabbit hole. The kids haven't starved yet so I haven't restricted myself too much!
