Extension to bedside table

I've got a very small bedside table and no space for a bigger one - I can't think what I would search for but essentially I'd like a small (v small!) but freestanding shelf extension thing that I could use for books etc. I can't drill into the wall so ordinary shelves are out. I can't work out what to Google so any ideas (or links) very welcome!

Not a shelf but I've seen a type of large pocket that clips onto your bed to put books etc in. Will try to find pic.

There are lots of other variations of the above - just google storage headboards.

Headboard would be a good option if the bed didn't have one built in. Will check out pockets, though - that could be a solution.
